It always depends on the project's goals, the time frame available for doing it, the categories mentioned above, and themes of knowledge that could help frame the analysis.
I adopt two or three methods for data triangulation for most of the qualitative studies.
- Starting with a narrative analysis of people’s stories by specific questions, I perform some qualitative analysis looking at the patterns found.
- I also do a thematic analysis of these patterns for big projects, such as in the Value proposition canvas for Housell.
For quantitative studies, I use simple descriptive statistics such as means, modes and standard deviations for data sets responding to specific questions.
Inferential statistics help me to set some hypotheses but not as part of the analysis process.
